Plants By Laurali The Graveyard Dirt Plant Profile

The Graveyard Dirt Plant Profile comes with graveyard witchcraft practices for the Samhain holiday, featuring Plants by Laurali! Graveyard dirt is used throughout the year, not just during the Halloween season.

First of all, graveyard dirt is made from plant material, therefore qualifying it as a unique plant profile. Graveyard dirt, as you might have guessed, comes from a graveyard, a gravesite, or a cemetery.

It’s perhaps one of the most powerful ingredients a witch can use in their spellwork! However, to collect dirt specimens, one must work with graveyard witchcraft practices. This is an advanced step into witchery and not for the faint of heart.

During the Samhain holiday, the veil between the worlds becomes thin, making it easier to communicate with the wandering ghosts and spirits. This makes for the ideal time of year to visit your local graveyard or cemetery.

With cemetery magick, you’ll have to learn all about what to do before you go and after you leave. It’s a powerful kind of magic, almost heady. You’ll also have to pay a toll to the gatekeeper of the cemetery each time you visit, as well as get their permission to work magick there.

The gatekeeper of the cemetery is not a living person. The first time I went to my favorite graveyard, I paid my toll and saw him out of the corner of my eye. He was dressed in a top hat and old-fashioned garb.

Let’s put it this way: you’ll know when you receive the gatekeeper’s permission. The gatekeeper always makes an appearance or shows up in some way.

Once you have their permission, you can begin to wander the graveyard, letting your intuition guide you. Start with cleaning up headstones and work your way up to working with specific gravesites that call to you.

The Samhain Season brings with it lots of mystery and magick, and collecting graveyard dirt is one of them! I’m going to share with you the various techniques and types of graveyard dirt. Collecting grave dirt specimens is a precarious business!

The Graveyard Dirt Plant Profile

First things first, graveyard dirt has magical properties and medicinal properties, only not in the way you would think. Unlike herb plant profiles, graveyard dirt should not be ingested or added to herbal remedies for obvious reasons.

Graveyard dirt is the herb that’s not really an herb at all! That’s what kind of makes it special and unique. It falls under the category of oddities and curiosities.

There are different types of graveyard dirt, as I mentioned earlier, and it’s important to be able to discern the difference. There’s graveyard dirt and grave dirt.

Let’s start with graveyard dirt. This type of dirt can be collected anywhere within the cemetery gates. You can also collect it in liminal spaces around the cemetery, such as under archways and crossroads.

Then comes grave dirt. This type of dirt comes from a specific gravesite. It can either come from a deceased loved one or the gravesite of someone you feel called to work with.

In my current practice, I often use both, but I recommend using what feels right to you. I would also recommend giving offerings to the spirit of the gravesite from which you get your dirt. Once you’ve built a strong connection, you can even do spells right from their gravesite.

For example, you may like to use the dirt from the gravesite of a wealthy man for money magick or the graveyard dirt from a judge's gravesite to win a court case. The key is to do it with permission, of course, and the utmost respect.

Graveyard Dirt Spell Uses

There are numerous ways you can use graveyard dirt in a spell. I find it to be especially useful to use for any kind of baneful moon magick. During the waning moon, you can perform all kinds of spellwork, including banishing, binding, and cursing someone if the situation calls for it.

Additionally, the baneful moon is the ideal period in which to perform road-opening spells and any kind of healing spell. This includes anything from healing a broken heart to healing your inner child.

The full moon magick makes for a great time to let something go or to get rid of a bad habit. Therefore, graveyard dirt can be used in spells for letting go of something that no longer serves you, or for drawing something into your life.

The graveyard dirt monograph can also be used in shadow work, assisting you in exploring your emotional landscape. You can hold a jar of dirt in both hands and meditate on it, or sprinkle a little between the pages of your journal overnight to bring truthful insights and clarity to something developing in your inner psyche.

Graveyard dirt is especially auspicious in court cases or for use in any kind of legal documents. Simply sprinkle it on the document, slip it into an envelope, and brush it off when you need the paperwork.

You can use graveyard dirt to solidify your marriage license or certificate, enhancing your union. In this case, you can even use the grave dirt from the site of a couple who had a happy, long-lasting marriage.

As you can see, graveyard dirt has a plethora of magical uses! Be as creative as you want to be when using graveyard soil. My favorite spell is to place a petition in a jar, cover it with dirt, and bring my wish to life!

Graveyard Dirt Astrological Correspondences

Graveyard dirt doesn’t have any kind of astrological correspondences. Grave dirt, on the other hand, will take on the astrological correspondence of the gravesite in which you took dirt.

It’s important to do research on the person whose gravesite dirt you’ll be using. If all else fails, look at their birthdate for more information. At the very least, it should give you their astrological sign and planet, which should help with correspondence.
