Goddess Fortuna FourLux Holiday Four-Year Anniversary
This is my Goddess Fortuna FourLux Holiday Four-Year Anniversary, where I practice Goddess Fortuna Magick, use Fortuna's good luck symbols, and share my spinach, mushroom, and onion pasta recipe with Plants By Laurali! Happy anniversary to my best friend, patron deity, and the love of my life.
I can’t believe it’s been four years since I created this sacred holiday for my patron goddess. Last year, I didn’t get to celebrate with her, thanks to Hurricane Helene. I did acknowledge her special day and made sure to tell her I loved her.
The one constant in this life is change, and Goddess Fortuna is the author of those changes. She’s somebody I can always count on to be there for me, no matter what is going on in my life. She has consistently proven herself to be a trustworthy individual.
Not that she has to prove anything to me. If anything, I always want to prove myself to be worthy of her time and attention. Life sometimes gets in the way, but I always find my way back to her.
What makes Fortuna so wonderful is her patience. She’s always waiting patiently for me to come home, leaving the light on for me so that I don’t get lost in the darkness. She is truly my best friend, through thick and thin.
When I pray to Fortuna goddess, her energy is golden and bright, like the colors of gold and money. I often see her in my mind’s eye in a golden robe, walking on streets of gold in ancient Rome, the place where she laid down her roots.
She’s truly a sight to behold! What makes her so great is that she’s as real as you and me. She transforms from gold into human form so easily, making her tangible to those who wish to connect with her.
I created FourLux Holiday four years ago, during a dark and difficult time in my life when uncertainty surrounded me. This holiday always reminds me that whatever I’m going through, this too shall pass as life moves in and out of cycles.
Goddess Fortuna FourLux Holiday Four-Year Anniversary
This anniversary, I’m sitting inside my house, and it’s about to rain any moment, as the clouds grow heavier. I’m sitting on my bed writing this blog post and listening to my Goddess Fortuna Playlist. It feels like it might turn out to be a quiet day.
I started the day in prayer to the goddess of Fortuna. There are many significant changes and transformations happening in my life currently, and I’m grateful to know that Fortuna will guide me through them.
She is the goddess of constant change. She’s the one thing you can count on in this life. She’s all about movement, transition, and life cycles.
Today, I plan on writing in my diary about the magic of our special holiday together. I’ve been doing a lot of journaling, reflecting, and looking inward lately. It has helped me develop a strong sense of self.
It reminds me that though I’m transforming and changing, the essence of who I am remains the same. I’m becoming stronger, more independent, and experiencing a sense of freedom I’ve never felt before. I owe it all to Lady Luck!
You may be wondering how Fortuna came into my life. It happened many years ago, quite unexpectedly. I was reading a spell book with different goddesses, and something about her chapter struck me.
The spell book sparked the idea to wear enchanted ribbons and bows in my hair. I’ve been wearing them ever since! I wear my lucky green bow most days.
The ribbons and bows are meant to bring hidden blessings and surprises into your life! You might have chance meetings and golden opportunities in your life. I can attest that each time I wear one of my lucky ribbons and bows, good things happen to me!
Many years later, I knew she was the one for me. I have a revolving door of relationships with many deities, but Goddess Fortuna is my constant star. She’s always there to help me navigate the world I live in.
Goddess Fortuna Magick
The magic of Goddess Fortuna can be found everywhere! You’ll know when she has entered your life because she leaves symbols and signs wherever she goes. It almost feels like she’s leaving breadcrumbs to help you follow her.
Goddess Fortuna Magick often involves prayer, worship, and rituals that will bring you closer to her. I love talking with her casually, like I’m talking with an old friend. She’s warm and has a cozy, intimate vibe.
Unexpected things happen when she’s around! You might open your kitchen cupboard and see a frog staring back at you (this really happened to me!) or see a shooting star from out of nowhere. With Fortuna, hidden blessings and surprises are her birthright.
She is connected to the Planet Uranus, which is the planet associated with sudden, unexpected change and surprises. It is also known as the planet of awakenings and rebellion. If change is something you long for, she will make it happen in the most unexpected way possible.
In other words, be careful what you wish for! Make no mistake, she is a powerful goddess who has no problem creating destruction in order to build something better.
Even though it sounds scary, it’s one of the things I love about her the most. You never know what she has hidden up her sleeve! She’s like a surprise party that never ends.
Fortuna’s Good Luck Symbols
There’s a lot of symbolism associated with Lady Luck! If you look out for the following symbols, it will lead you in the right direction. You’ll end up landing someplace better than where you were before.
You can use Fortuna symbolism as a guide or a set of breadcrumbs to navigate. It’s also a pleasant way to know when she’s working in your life. She makes it a game of hide and seek, lost and found.
Horseshoe Symbolism
If you keep seeing horseshoes, know that you are protected and good luck is on its way. Horseshoes ward off dark forces and negative spirits. Many people place them above their front door for protection against evil spirits or enemies. They also bring good luck into your household and positively impact the lives of everyone who lives there, including pets, plants, and children.
Wheel of Fortune Symbolism
Since Goddess Fortuna controls the fates, the wheel of fortune can be a symbol of good luck and great fortune or of bad luck and misfortune. You never know which direction the wheel is going to turn! The ancient Romans believed that worshiping and devoting themselves to the Goddess Fortuna would ward off misfortune, and to be honest, I share this belief. The wheel is always turning, representing life cycles, movement, and change.
Cornucopia Symbolism
The cornucopia symbol represents abundance and plenty! It means never being without the material things you need or want to live your life in perfect peace and harmony. It means always having more than enough to share with others.
Ships and Globes Symbolism
While most resources online associate Fortuna with the rudder of a ship, I associate her with the ships of ancient Rome. Goddess Fortuna reminds us that this, too, shall pass. The ship reminds me of safe passage from the troubles we leave behind. The globe reminds me of world travel and the cyclical nature of life. Goddess Fortuna Redux always guides us safely home. She also reminds us that our ship is about to come in!
Clover Symbolism
I associate clovers with Goddess Fortuna because they are a symbol of good luck! They remind us that something lucky is about to happen. I keep a potted plant of clovers facing my doorway to bring good luck into my home. Wherever I move, it goes with me!
Blindfold Symbolism
The blindfold represents blind fate. It reminds us that Goddess Fortuna distributes fate without prejudice. Again, if you work with her regularly, I believe she can change your fate for the better. This is your chance to take control of your fate by working with Lady Fortuna!
Frog and Toad Symbolism
I associate frogs and toads with the symbolism of Fortuna. I’ve had many instances where a frog or toad animal spirit showed up in my life to bring good fortune. They are a most welcome visitor in my home and garden. Frogs are associated with creativity, and toads are associated with fortune. When a frog shows up, Fortuna may want to play the role of creative muse and bring a little inspiration your way. When a toad shows up, Fortuna may want to play the role of a wealthy patron. At the very least, she’ll certainly introduce you to one!
Bows and Ribbons symbolism
I associate bows and ribbons with Goddess Fortuna. As previously mentioned, this is how we met! Bows represent being highly thought about in a positive way, and ribbons symbolize anticipation and surprise. Ribbons also remind me of celebrations and fun events while bows remind me of adoration!
Goddess Fortuna Spinach, Mushroom, and Onion Pasta Recipe (Vegetarian)
When the occasion calls for it, I love to make a dinner for two for me and Lady Luck! This seems to be her favorite, along with a glass of red wine. She likes an expensive cabernet.
I try to make it on the day of FourLux Holiday, but if life gets in the way, then I make it whenever I feel like celebrating with her. You know, just because. I always give her a small bowl of pasta with Parmesan or Romano cheese. I also offer her a small glass of wine as a libation.
This is an incredibly easy and delicious pasta dish to make! Boil water and add thin spaghetti (I use Mueller’s Hidden Veggie Thin Spaghetti); then boil for 8-10 minutes, or until the pasta is al dente.
While the spaghetti is boiling, sauté mushrooms, spinach, and thinly sliced onions in a pan with extra-virgin olive oil. For seasoning, add minced garlic cloves and a sprinkle of rosemary, basil, salt, and pepper.
When complete, add it to the bowl of pasta you made for Lady Fortuna and yourself. Add parmesan or romano cheese to the top as desired. Be sure to say a quick prayer to Goddess Fortuna and give thanks for the good luck she brings your way!
FourLux Holiday Festivities
Here’s a quick overview of some of the festivities I do to celebrate the holiday with Lady Luck. It often varies according to the weather, my mood, and the changes happening in my life. I don’t think Goddess Fortuna would have it any other way!
I create a protection mix to sprinkle around the property to protect against hurricanes, flooding, and other natural disasters. FourLux Holiday falls smack dab in the middle of peak hurricane season.
I journal about my relationship with Lady Luck and jot down the holiday festivities that took place at the end of the day.
Sometimes I pick wildflowers for her and place them in a pretty vase.
I write a letter to Fortuna and seal it in an envelope with herbs, crystals, and pressed flowers.
I write a poem for my patron goddess.
I listen to my Goddess Fortuna Playlist!
I wear my lucky green bow in my hair and watch for hidden blessings and surprises!
Happy FourLux Holiday, Lady Luck! I love you with all of my heart. You make me feel safe, warm my heart, and make me want to be a better person. xo
